HOW JESUS INVENTED LÜBECK MARZIPAN

  • The perfect gift book for the festive season.
  • A charmingly satirical take on the biblical Christmas story, honoring famous authors.

If you are looking for an unconventional and creative take on the biblical Christmas story, this book is a must-read. Satire specialist Lorenz Meyer reimagines the story of Jesus's birth in the literary style of famous authors, such as in Thomas Mann's Lübeck (where we learn that Jesus invented marzipan), Astrid Lindgren's Bullerby (where Michel, Karlsson, and Ronja appear as the three wise men), Mark Twain's Mississippi (where Jesus's birth saves a circus), or Agatha Christie's world (where Mary and Joseph assist Miss Marple in her investigations).

Meyer expertly imitates their styles and breathes new life into the classic tale with finesse and subtle humor. For an added treat, the book includes both heartfelt and humorous poems –making Christmas even better.
