Constantin Floros

Constantin Floros, retired professor of musicology at the University of Hamburg, decoded ancient Byzantine and Slavic notations and developed a method for analyzing music semantics, exemplified in numerous works. His research focuses on medieval and 18th-20th century music. He authored over twenty books. He is a member of the Academy of Sciences in Erfurt, the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, President of the Gustav Mahler Association Hamburg, an honorary member of several institutions, and a multiple honorary doctorate recipient.
