OPERATION PHOENIX

  • Christian Herzog brings the 1936 Olympic Games in Nazi Germany back to life, blending fiction and facts.
  • An electrifying thriller based on real events, expertly written and impossible to put down.

An unimaginable conspiracy, devised to shake the world to its core.

Berlin, 1936. Germany presents itself to the world in the best light during the Olympics: the capital is cleaned up, antisemitic slogans are removed, and people are dancing to swing music. But in secret, the "Phoenix Working Group", including Hermann Schmidt from the Ministry of Propaganda, pursues a sinister plan. The Hindenburg, the world's largest airship, is to explode over the stadium, with blame placed on an "International Jewish Conspiracy." Art student Anna Kollmann and her group plan to drop anti-regime leaflets from the airship. When Hermann meets Anna in the stadium, he is immediately drawn to her. But can Anna trust him? Zeppelin steward Georg Finkbeiner becomes a target and uncovers a deeper plot: the world is on the edge.
